The team safeguards Deakin’s digital assets by detecting and responding to threats, managing risks, ensuring cyber awareness and embedding a zero-trust security strategy. Through initiatives such as Project Lighthouse, we enhance Deakin’s cyber security maturity, ensuring a proactive and resilient approach to evolving cyber threats.
The Consultant, Cyber Security Awareness collaborates with key stakeholders to take a proactive approach to develop, deliver and continuously improve cyber security awareness initiatives, training and engagement activities that promote secure behaviours and strengthen cyber resilience across the University. The role supports the development of practical solutions, educational programs and tailored role-based learning initiatives that enhance awareness of cyber security risks and contribute to a safe and secure digital environment.
As a Consultant, Cyber Security Awareness you will:
- Develop and deliver cyber security awareness programs, training, and engagement initiatives that promote secure behaviours across the University.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to design practical, role-based learning solutions that improve understanding of cyber security risks.
- Lead awareness campaigns and initiatives independently, engaging diverse cohorts to strengthen cyber security capability and resilience.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of awareness programs, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and enhanced outcomes.
- Support the University's digital and security objectives by delivering targeted awareness activities that address emerging cyber threats and organisational priorities.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- Postgraduate qualifications or extensive experience in cyber security awareness, training, leadership and management.
- Proven experience leading cyber security awareness and training programs in complex environments.
- Strong analytical, strategic and continuous improvement capability.
- Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders, lead initiatives and drive organisational outcomes.
- Sound knowledge of cyber security risks and mitigation strategies, with the ability to translate technical concepts into practical guidance.
