As an Associate Research Fellow, you will:

  • Focus on the role of the maternal microbiome and its interaction with mitochondrial pathways in the development of autism spectrum disorder (ASD), food allergy, and asthma.
  • Supervise and mentor PhD students to support their research progress and professional development.
  • Provide co-supervision for a paediatric trainee’s research project, ensuring appropriate guidance and oversight.
  • Lead and actively contribute to journal club activities to promote critical appraisal of current literature and knowledge sharing within the research team.
  • Maintain a high-quality data management system to ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance with research standards and protocols.                                                                                                                                   

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • PhD in a relevant discipline and/or other relevant qualifications and experience.
  • Emerging research and scholarship through publications, and/or exhibitions as appropriate to the discipline.
  • Demonstrated skills in Omics analysis, ideally with metagenomics.
  • Demonstrated skills in laboratory-based assays
  • Experience in applying AI-based analytical methods to research data.
  • Proficiency in the use of REDCap, Stata (desirable) and R for data management, statistical analysis, and reporting.
  • Applicants must hold current Australian working rights to apply. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
