The role:
As Senior Coordinator, Engagement and Projects, you will provide high-level executive and governance support to the CEO and Board, enabling smooth operations and strategic delivery across Deakin Residential Services (DRS). DRS operates as a separate entity that is wholly owned and operated by the Deakin University and staffed by University employees. DRS operations are run 24/7, and the team currently manages over 2,900 student beds across multiple campuses – Melbourne Burwood, Geelong Waurn Ponds, Geelong Waterfront and Warrnambool.
This pivotal role drives projects, policies, events, and stakeholder engagement that support DRS’s integrated accommodation services, ensuring effective communication, continuous improvement, strong governance, and an inclusive, high-quality student experience. To succeed in this important role, you will have acute organisational skills, demonstrated project management experience and expertise in event planning.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- Postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or
- Extensive experience and management expertise; or
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments, managing complex and sensitive information while addressing diverse issues across various communication channels (face-to-face, phone, and written).
- Proven experience in administration within a large organisation, navigating complex structures, policies, and procedures, and providing high-quality services and support.
- Proficiency in SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Teams, including the ability to create impactful presentations and resources on behalf of senior executives such as the CEO.
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training that ensures a comprehensive understanding of organisational operations and processes.
