About the role
The Senior Coordinator, People Operations is responsible for leading and guiding the Coordinators and Senior Advisers in the People Operations team to deliver exceptional and accurate support and advice throughout the employment lifecycle. This role focuses on both leading key projects to enhance the employee experience as well as ensuring the day-to-day effective and efficient delivery of people operations services.
People Operations is part of our exceptional People Services department - the operational hub of the People function. Made up of three specialist teams (People Operations, Recruitment Services and Payroll), People Services acts as the first point of contact for HR support across Deakin. People Services delivers a range of essential services including handling general HR enquiries, managing payroll and coordinating end-to-end recruitment. As part of the wider Customer Experience division, People Services works closely with People and Culture to provide a high-quality, customer-centric service that is dependable and professional. Together, these qualities help us create a positive experience for our people.
As the Senior Coordinator, People Operations you will:
- Lead with values, ethics and emotional intelligence to grow team resilience, inclusion and performance and sets clear standards of expected behaviour and celebrate and reward outstanding performance.
- Lead the team by providing direction and oversight to ensure high-quality support and advice on all employment lifecycle matters.
- Oversee the accuracy and effectiveness of data input into the HR management system, implementing quality improvement initiatives and conducting regular reviews and audits.
- Enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of people operations through the delivery of a targeted projects that ensure compliance and an improved experience for our staff.
- Develop, maintain and use a variety of systems, processes, diverse range of people and sources to gather information and gain deeper understanding and make critical strategic decisions.
- Establish systems and procedures to monitor, guide and track progress and strive for excellence and continually evaluate progress and effectively overcomes barriers to achieve outcomes.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- Postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or
- Extensive experience and management expertise; or
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Experience in leading and managing a team, including setting clear objectives, providing direction, and ensuring high performance.
- Experience in people operations, including managing employment lifecycle processes and providing HR advice.
- Experience in leading and executing projects related to employee experience, or HR initiatives.
