As a Senior Pro-Vice Chancellor, Teaching and Learning you will:

  • Set and lead Deakin’s long-term learning and teaching strategy, ensuring alignment with the University’s values, academic ambitions and broader institutional direction.
  • Oversee the design and continuous improvement of Deakin’s digital learning environment, ensuring it meets university needs and enhances academic quality.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing and inclusive team of academic and professional team members across campuses.
  • Shape and contribute to major transformation programs at Deakin, particularly those related to learning innovation, workforce capability, and/or educational reform.

 To be successful, you’ll have:

  • A PhD and academic profile consistent with senior leadership in a research-intensive university.
  • Demonstrated leadership in university-wide learning and teaching strategy, with proven ability to deliver transformation at scale.
  • Experience leading large, multi-functional teams of academic and professional team members in a complex, multi-campus environment.
  • Deep understanding of national and global higher education trends, including digital education, pedagogy and assessment transformation, assurance of learning and academic capability development.
