About the role:

The Senior Finance Analyst is responsible for providing advanced financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting to support the university’s financial planning and decision-making processes. The Senior Finance Analyst will play a key role in managing financial performance, developing financial models, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data.

As a Senior Finance Analyst, you will:

  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis to evaluate the university’s financial performance, including revenue, expenditures, and investment activities. Identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  • Lead the development and management of annual budgets and financial forecasts. Provide insights and recommendations to support budgetary decisions and long-term financial planning.
  • Prepare and present detailed financial reports, including variance analysis, financial statements, and performance metrics. Ensure reports are accurate, timely, and align with institutional goals.
  • Collect, validate, and analyse financial data from various sources to support strategic decision-making. Maintain the accuracy and integrity of financial records and systems.
  • Develop and maintain complex financial models to support scenario analysis, strategic planning, and financial projections. Use models to provide actionable insights and recommendations.   

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • Postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience in accounting and finance; or
  • Extensive experience and management expertise; or
  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with experience in financial modelling, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with financial software and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
