About the role

These roles are part of our exceptional People Services department - the operational hub of the People function. Made up of three specialist teams (People Operations, Recruitment Services and Payroll), People Services acts as the first point of contact for HR support across Deakin. We deliver a range of essential services including handling general HR enquiries, managing payroll and coordinating end-to-end recruitment. As part of the wider Customer Experience division, People Services works closely with People and Culture to provide a high-quality, customer-centric service that is dependable and professional. Together, these qualities help us create an efficient and positive experience for our people.

The Senior Adviser, Recruitment Services will provide end-to-end solutions for university stakeholders focused on recruitment, attraction, selection and onboarding. The role will support the Recruitment Services team in providing high quality coordination and support for various employment types across all areas of the University. The role contributes to continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing both candidate and stakeholder experiences while aligning recruitment processes with the university’s strategic objectives.

As a Senior Adviser, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality, proactive recruitment advice to hiring managers and internal stakeholders, ensuring a smooth and efficient recruitment process that aligns with university policies.
  • Oversee and coordinate the end-to-end recruitment process, including drafting job advertisements, applicant tracking, interview scheduling, reference checks and offer management, ensuring a seamless candidate experience.
  • Act as a key point of contact for handling recruitment queries and cases, providing tailored solutions and ensuring consistent service delivery.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of recruitment strategies and initiatives to attract top talent, improve processes and promote a diverse and inclusive workplace.

 

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • A Degree with subsequent relevant experience or extensive experience and specialist knowledge in recruitment.
  • Experience in recruitment across a range of roles, ideally within an internal recruitment function, complex organisation or higher education environment.
  • Experience in managing end-to-end recruitment with a focus on the client experience.
  • A proactive mindset to adopt best practice recruitment initiatives and applying these to your work.
