About the role:

The Manager, Learning Analytics and Innovation is responsible for leading the learning analytics program at Deakin and driving the development of a data-informed ecosystem that improves the design and delivery of learning experiences to support student academic outcomes and success.

Reporting to the Director, Learning Design the Manager, Learning Analytics and Innovation will:

  • Lead and oversee the learning analytics program at Deakin to ensure it aligns to and supports the achievement of the University’s strategic vision.
  • Analyse data and information from business, internal systems and external sources and transform this data into actionable insights that inform teaching and learning and university business decisions.
  • Undertake market research, trend analysis, planning and forecasting to inform teaching and learning and learning design decision makers.
  • Lead innovation, process improvement activities and adopt new ideas to improvements to the learning analytics program to support student success.
  • Collaborate closely with various teams across the university to ensure data quality and adherence to university policy and procedures. 
  • Lead and coach team members and provide constructive feedback that takes in to account individual capability and supports performance and role clarity.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to support the development of the learning analytics ecosystem that supports student success.

 

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • Postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or
  • Postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or
  • Extensive experience and management expertise; or
  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Experience in analysing data and developing associated reports.
  • Experience in identifying client needs and developing analysis briefs.
  • Knowledge of the Australian Higher Education sector and an understanding of academic and administrative practices in a university.
