About the role:
The Coordinator, As-Built Drawings maintains the University’s Drawings Management, Campus Infrastructure’s Mapping and Building Identification and Location Management for the built environment across all Campuses. The position provides technical support for drawing requests and assists in the development of the University’s drawing standards and procedures.
This role enhances the customer experience by delivering seamless, customer-focused solutions through integrated physical and digital infrastructure. It ensures improvements align with strategic goals, balancing innovation with long-term objectives.
As a Coordinator, As-Built Drawings you will:
- Update and maintain the University’s facilities drawings, campus maps and essential services maps, ensuring they are accurate, up to date and accessible on all reporting systems.
- Manage and supervise underground services information between Deakin University and the external providers, ensuring the handover is accurate.
- Fostered strong relationships with internal stakeholders through effective negotiation and communication skills.
- Allocate building and room number identification, ensuring correct application of room standard procedures.
- Develop and maintain University drawing standards, processes, and procedures, ensuring alignment with Deakin University policies and management systems.
- Maintain drawing information and provide high level analysis of drawing data to ensure relevance within the division and accuracy of information published to University’ Drawings Library and datum points.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- A Degree with substantial subsequent relevant experience; or
- Extensive experience and management expertise in technical or administrative fields; or
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Knowledge of as-built drawings, building codes, and construction industry standards, including local and national compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar platforms to review, update, and manage technical drawings.
- Previous experience with software such as Archibus and/or SharePoint is desirable.
