The Faculty of Health is dedicated to being at the forefront of teaching, learning, creativity, social development, and groundbreaking research and discovery. We work closely with industry partners and government bodies to translate discoveries into real-word impact. This role will specifically be working within the School of Medicine.

The Senior Lecturer will:

  • Make a significant contribution to the moderation and maintenance of academic standards in the MD course, and to the development of course and unit curricula, teaching and assessment experiences.
  • Integrate creative and/or innovative teaching practices to improve student success and engagement and to support the transition to clinical learning within the MD course, and support the development of readiness for practice skills for entry to the clinical workforce upon graduation from the MD course.
  • Provide clear assessment criteria and timely feedback to learners to demonstrate learning outcomes, including facilitating academic and/or professional behavioural remediation as required.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, delivery and review of major assessment tasks during the academic year.
  • Support the professional development of educational and assessment skills in clinical teachers.

As a Clinical Learning Mentor, Education-focused, you will:

  • Lead unit and course teaching teams and work collaboratively with other teaching teams in the faculty to develop effective unit/courses curricula and learning materials (including through course leadership roles).
  • Integrate industry, clinical and/or research practice into unit/course design to improve student learning experiences, success, engagement and resources.
  • Design collaborative learning opportunities at the course level. Support diverse learners by designing accessible and inclusive unit and course material and practices.
  • Make a significant contribution to pedagogy research projects and demonstrate a disciplinary reputation in teaching scholarship and pedagogical research.
  • Contribute to the development of community engagement activities at university level and lead the implementation of the University’s community engagement agenda and activities.

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • Demonstrated passion for teaching and learning.
  • Ability to deliver effective teaching practices to improve student success and engagement.
  • Relevant postgraduate degree or Fellowship in a relevant field (or equivalent including significant post-Fellowship experience).
  • Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery Degree/Doctor of Medicine (or equivalent).
  • Current AHPRA registration.
