About the team:

As trusted advisors and collaborative partners, the Finance and Assurance function provides a range of services to all parts of the university to drive financial sustainability and provide expert advice and compliance assurance to support delivery of the University Strategy and operational activities.

Our Assurance capability, consisting of Legal Services, Compliance, Contract Governance and Risk develops the University’s assurance frameworks and policies, and provides key expertise that underpins compliance and corporate governance and Deakin's commitment to high standards of integrity.

The Compliance and Contract Governance team ensures the organisation meets legal and regulatory obligations and manages a number of requirements including privacy, FOI, and declarations of interest. It also oversees contract governance to maintain transparency, mitigate risks, and uphold accountability in all contractual arrangements.

As a Coordinator, Contract Governance, you will:

  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the University’s contract governance framework, policies, processes and systems.
  • Coordinate contract governance activities and provide guidance and support to stakeholders to promote consistent and compliant practices.
  • Improve CLM systems, workflows and processes by analysing business requirements and identifying opportunities to enhance user experience and functionality.
  • Support contract execution, record-keeping, reporting and compliance monitoring, including maintaining data integrity and governance dashboards.
  • Provide system support, manage user access and contribute to audits, compliance reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.                                                                                         

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • Relevant degree and/or substantial experience in governance, compliance, business operations, systems administration, project coordination or a related field.
  • Experience supporting contract governance, compliance, procurement or related business processes in complex environments.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience delivering complex work and coordinating or leading initiatives.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience with CLM platforms, workflow or document management systems; DocuSign CLM or similar experience highly regarded.
