About GIFT City

Deakin is the first University in the world to open an international teaching campus in India. The state-of-the-art campus opened in 2024 in the heart of the smart business district, GIFT City (Gujarat International Finance Tec-City). This campus is giving students access to future-ready Deakin postgraduate courses aligned with local employment needs since July 2024. The programs here will directly support Deakin’s aspiration for innovative international education partnerships that provide lasting value for students, partners, and Deakin. With an ‘In India, with India and for India’ approach, the initiative will also provide opportunities for Deakin and the students to work closely with GIFT City and its industry partners.

 

As a Research Assistant, you will:

  • Respond quickly to stakeholder needs, manage expectations clearly, and deliver results on time to build trust
  • Take initiative to identify better ways of working, propose practical solutions, and lead change that makes processes simpler and more efficient
  • Build strong relationships across teams and with diverse colleagues, support others through challenges, and create an inclusive work environment
  • Gather information from multiple sources, analyse current practices, and develop accessible solutions
  • Stay organised, prioritise your workload, track progress, and plan your time effectively to demonstrate reliability and readiness for growth

                                                                                                                                       

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • You hold an undergraduate/postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline, with experience in Python, data analysis and modelling (Mandatory)
  • Experience developing practical tools and familiarity with generative AI workflows and tools (Desirable)
  • You should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, good communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-environment
  • Demonstrated experience conducting research tasks - editing, literature reviews and transcription and preparing research reports within a university or tertiary environment, including working knowledge of research funding schemes
  • Comfortable performing experiments alone without close guidance or supervision
