About the team:

Deakin Analytics and Insights (DAI) is the central hub for data analytics and delivery of data-driven insights to inform decisions through enhanced reporting capabilities and strengthened partnerships across the University.

The Education Analytics Team provides data-driven insights and strategic advice to ensure that all areas of Deakin are supported to deliver high quality, effective and efficient educational outcomes. We are passionate about the development and provision of accurate, easily accessible and effective analytic resources which holistically support students, academics and support staff for the enhancement of Deakin's education mission. ​

As an Analyst, Education Analytics, you will:

• Collect, process and analyse data from internal and external sources to generate insights that support university decision-making.
• Design, develop and maintain reports, dashboards and data tools that enable stakeholders to access and use data effectively.
• Source, integrate and transform data from multiple systems to support reporting, analytics and benchmarking.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the university to deliver high-quality, data-driven solutions within established governance frameworks.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by promoting consistent practices, meeting agreed timelines and maintaining data quality standards.        

To be successful, you’ll have:

• Relevant degree with subsequent experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and extensive professional experience.
• Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage competing demands and deliver quality outcomes.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills, with experience working across teams and providing professional advice.
• Knowledge of governance frameworks, policies and standards, with the ability to apply them in a professional environment.
• Experience using tools and programs such as Tableau, Power BI, Cognos, SPSS or Alteryx to analyse large datasets and develop dashboards, reports and visualisations that communicate insights effectively.
