About the team:

Digital Infrastructure Services supports critical technology infrastructure, including computers, software, cloud services, storage, backups, audio-visual equipment, and the University’s voice, video, and data networks. Facilities oversees the maintenance, condition, and lifecycle of the built environment, managing compliance, energy use, utilities contracts, and both proactive and reactive maintenance. They are responsible for Essential Life Safety Measures, annual compliance obligations, and planning for backlog maintenance projects. As a Senior Officer, you will:

  • Provide a range of maintenance services to systems and installations, ensuring their implementation and operation meet design standards, building regulations, and relevant codes, and consider environmental impacts.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues to follow and refine a maintenance schedule that strengthens preventative maintenance, improves asset and building lifecycle performance, and minimises disruption to staff and students.
  • Analyse emergency works and breakdown situations and implement immediate actions to stabilise equipment and reduce operational impacts.
  • Engage in process improvement activities and adopt new ideas to inform recommendations for improvements to installations, operations, and procedures.
  • Use knowledge of industry standards and best practices in the delivery of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities.
  • Contribute to the development, review and maintenance of internal procedures, operational plans and governance documentation, ensuring alignment with compliance requirements and consistent work practices.

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Experience working within a multi-trade environment.
  • Knowledge of building industries including Occupational Health and Safety guidelines.
