About the team and role:
Deakin Analytics and Insights (DAI) is the central hub for data analytics and delivery of data-driven insights to inform decisions through enhanced reporting capabilities and strengthened partnerships across the University.
Insights Enablement supports a cohesive and efficient Business Insights and Intelligence Network by optimising its operations. The team focuses on Network effectiveness by building Network capability, partnering with key stakeholders to facilitate connection between data, actionable insights and strategic decision making, and supporting the development and execution of business strategies and related initiatives.
The Consultant, Insights Enablement is responsible for turning data into meaningful insights, enabling stakeholders to make informed decisions, and driving a data-centric culture within the university.
As a senior member of Insights Enablement and the BII Network, you will:
- Play a lead role in shaping the Business Intelligence and Insights Community of Practice and actively contribute to its success
- Build strong relationships and collaborate with stakeholders across the university to ensure that their needs are met through effective analytics and insights solutions
- Proactively identify areas for innovation and recommend changes to improve cohesion and advance impact
- Support the development and implementation of the University’s strategic initiatives to drive continuous improvement, including integration of insight into decision making and management
- Create and co-ordinate reports and presentations that clearly communicate analytical findings to stakeholders, and to inform strategy and evidence-based decision making.
- Actively encourage others to question traditional assumptions, promote ideas and review practices and policies and translate into workplace improvements
To be successful, you’ll have:
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training in business, management, analytics or similar
- Understanding of strategic thinking, planning and strategy implementation.
- Familiarity with the challenges and opportunities related to data-driven decision-making in educational institutions or similar settings.
- Proven track record of deriving actionable insight, data storytelling and supporting strategic decision-making.
- Experience in partnering, communicating and influencing a broad range of stakeholders
- Proficiency in use of data analysis, reporting and visualisation tools
