As a Technical Services Coordinator, you will:
- Coordinate the efficient and safe operation of research laboratories and equipment.
- Identify and lead Occupational Health and Safety practices, including the management of all matters relating to hazardous materials and dangerous goods, and recommend changes to work practices where appropriate to promote high safety standards.
- Provide students and stakeholders with advice, training and practical demonstrations, covering safety and technical aspects of chemical handling, equipment usage and laboratory- based research.
- Trial new technologies and modify existing processes to ensure the optimal smooth running of research activities.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- A degree in science or engineering with chemistry and laboratory management experience; or
- Extensive relevant experience and management expertise in technical fields; or
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Experience in occupational health and safety regulations, including dangerous goods.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate staff and resources.
