The Senior Officer, Admissions and Scholarships provides advice and support to prospective domestic and international students and academic staff on admissions, enrolments, and scholarships for higher degrees by research. This role ensures all activities comply with University policies and procedures.
Reporting to the Senior Coordinator, Admissions and Scholarships, you will advise on policy interpretation, procedures, and administrative processes, and coordinate HDR admissions and enrolments. This includes assessing applications, processing international student applications, issuing offers and CoEs, and managing enrolments with key stakeholders.
As a Senior Officer, Admissions and Scholarships, you will:
- Resolving issues with minimal assistance, maintaining systems and records, preparing statistical reports and correspondence, and undertaking general administrative tasks.
- Contributing to process improvement activities and adopting new ideas to enhance HDR candidature management support.
- Working collaboratively with team members in a respectful and inclusive manner.
- Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Communicating confidently and using appropriate influencing techniques to support understanding and positive outcomes.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- Completion of a Degree, a Diploma with at least two years relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education/training.
- Experience in a higher degrees by research or student services environment.
- Knowledge of the policies and issues relating to research and research training in a tertiary environment.
- Experience in dealing with confidential materials and sensitive matters.
