About the role:
As an Assistant, Fitness Operations, you will contribute to the high-quality health, fitness, and recreation services across Deakin University’s fitness centres and sports facilities. You will be responsible for the provision of high quality and timely services and supports the operations of a specified campus fitness centre and associated recreation facilities.
As an Assistant, Fitness Operations you will:
- Provide functional advice to fitness equipment users and deliver scheduled group fitness classes
- Clarify expectations and respond promptly to queries to ensure member and stakeholder needs are met within agreed standards and timelines and adhere to all quality requirements
- Identify and appropriately manage or escalate hazards within the fitness centre and associated recreation facilities and adhere to all set health, wellbeing and safety requirements
- Build productive relationships with a diverse range of fitness centre members and university stakeholders to ensure a streamlined service offering across the University’s fitness centres and sports facilities
- Contribute feedback and suggestions and identify situations in which change is needed to improve service levels
- Take personal responsibility and show initiative to meeting goals and objectives contributing to an inclusive team environment
To be successful, you’ll have:
- Completion of an Associate Diploma level qualifications with relevant work experience or a certificate level qualification with post-certificate relevant work experience; or
- Completion of a post-Trades Certificate or Advanced Certificate and extensive relevant and on the job training; or
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Certificate III & IV in Fitness or equivalent qualification
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Working with Children’s Check
