  • Flexible location
  • Fixed Term, 0.10 FTE – 0.50FTE (7.35-18.37 hours per week. Total hours per contract may be worked as needed to accommodate workload peaks & troughs, provided total hours worked align with the employment contract amount)
  • Level A $83,268 - $111,939 + 17% Superannuation (pro rata, part time)

As a Graduate Researcher Teaching Fellow, you will:

  • Deliver and provide innovative & effective teaching practices to enhance student success and engagement, while maintaining a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the development of high-quality learning materials, activities, and assessments, working collaboratively with the Unit Chair and teaching team to support curriculum innovation.
  • Integrate industry (if relevant) and research practices into student learning experiences, ensuring relevance and practical application of knowledge.
  • Provide constructive feedback on student performance using clear assessment criteria, and actively contribute to moderation processes to ensure consistency and quality of assessment and feedback.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities, and maintain a commitment to educational excellence.

 

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • Currently enrolled in a PhD in a relevant and related discipline at Deakin University.
  • Demonstrated satisfactory progress towards timely completion and have approval from supervisor to apply for the position.
  • Demonstrated passion for teaching and learning.
  • Excellent organisational skills, effective time management skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines successfully.
  • Demonstrated experience in or demonstrable ability to deliver effective teaching that improves student success and engagement across a range of modes of delivery.
  • Capacity to contribute to teaching-related administration including the ability to interpret and understand policies and procedures relevant to teaching and student support and welfare.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to establish good working relationships with colleagues and students.
  • Emerging record of scholarly learning and teaching in postgraduate or undergraduate programs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for use with staff and students.
