About the role

As the Consultant, Leadership and Organisational Development, you'll play a key role in delivering impactful programs and projects that bring Deakin’s People Strategy to life.

We design and deliver leadership and organisational development experiences that strengthen Deakin’s culture, capability, people experience and performance. From skill-based programs to immersive development for leadership cohorts and executive coaching, we enable leaders and team members to grow, lead with purpose, and shape a positive and future-focused workforce. 

Focus areas include:​  

  • Inspiring Leaders – Growing Inspiring leaders through leadership development, coaching and mentoring and leadership assessment 
  • Capable People – Encouraging people to achieve and continuously improve through capability building and skills development programs, performance and feedback tools and people leader programs 
  • Engage Teams – Engaging teams to thrive and foster a culture of collaboration, communication and trust through recognition programs and targeted culture building programs 
  • Sustainable Design – Enabling success through design that drives productivity and performance including workforce planning. 

As the Consultant, Leadership & Organisational Development, you will:

  • Leverage and apply university wide frameworks, methodologies and practices to achieve sustainable outcomes.
  • Lead, plan and oversee the delivery of programs that utilise a range of people systems and tools.
  • Contribute to the project and program management of leadership and organisational development initiatives, by consulting with stakeholders, gathering and analysing information, diagnosing gaps, utilising insights, recommending and designing solutions including frameworks, governance and programs, engaging others, facilitating the solutions and evaluating the impact.
  • Develop high-quality programs and solutions that leverage knowledge of the principles, theory and practice leadership and organisational development.
  • Actively participate in creating a collaborative and supportive team environment and drive productive ways of working to achieve shared outcomes.

 

About you

You're a strategic thinker with strong consulting and program design skills. You thrive in complex environments and enjoy working with people to solve problems and build capability. You’re passionate about leadership and organisational development and understand what it takes to create real change. Your energy, curiosity and a strong collaborative mindset stands out in your work.

You’ll bring:

  • Postgraduate qualifications (or progress toward completion) combined with extensive relevant experience; or
  • Extensive experience with demonstrated management expertise; or
  • A suitable combination of relevant education, training and experience; and
  • Strong knowledge of systems, processes and business improvement practices.
