The role:

This fixed-term position has been established to cover a vacancy arising from a long-term internal secondment. The primary focus will be on teaching, as well as leadership and service related to teaching activities. The Associate Professor will lead teaching teams to design and develop courses and materials which influence teaching across multiple disciplines and provide our student an excellent learning experience. The position will lead major, highly productive, high-quality, research, scholarship and creative activities generating high impact outputs. The Associate Professor will also develop and lead academic or other collaborations that enable novel teaching, research or creative activities that are recognised nationally and ensure deep impact of academic activity in the field and community.

As an Associate Professor, you will:

  • Lead teaching teams to develop innovation in curriculum design to inform unit/courses and materials which influence teaching across discipline within the university. Lead review of units and courses across disciplines within the university and lead refinements. Lead and integrate industry, clinical and/or research practices to inform unit / course design across discipline in peer institutions or nationally. 
  • Lead the discovery and adoption of innovative teaching practices at university level and deliver learner-centric, research-informed teaching practices across different levels / modes of delivery.
  • Support the development and promotion of the university research collaboration and industry partnership agenda and priorities and develop industry partnerships and collaboration to enable major breakthroughs, innovative solutions for future translation into real world impact.
  • Recruit and supervise HDR students with timely completions and productive, high-quality outcomes and ensure ECR and MCRs have Honours and HDR supervision opportunities particularly as principal supervisors.                                                                                                                                                                  

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a registered nurse.
  • PhD in a relevant discipline.
  • Distinguished scholarly learning and teaching in undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including innovative curriculum design.
  • Internationally recognised research reputation underpinned by publications in high quality journals, and exhibitions where relevant to the discipline.
  • Demonstrated success and passion for leadership of teaching, research and/or administration.
