About the role:

The Coordinator, Research Education, Digital Environments is responsible for assisting in the provision of researcher training and development activities for graduate researchers and academic and professional staff to expand their research capability through ongoing development as part of Deakin’s research training and researcher development programs. This includes planning, developing and delivering high quality training, program and event management, and program evaluation and analysis to ensure optimal investment.

As a Coordinator, Research Education, Digital Environments you will:

  • Lead or support development and implementation of researcher training and development activities by designing evidence-based programs that support researchers in skills development and knowledge acquisition.
  • Engage with researchers, graduate researchers and stakeholders to identify and implement practical, accessible training solutions based on development needs.
  • Plan, design and develop e-learning and other materials in close cooperation with the researcher development team, key internal and external stakeholders, and product vendors.
  • Analyse and monitor the effectiveness of existing researcher programs, including interpretation of performance data and survey responses, and work in partnership with key stakeholders to identify new opportunities to grow researcher capability.
  • Promote and support the use of e-learning and knowledge management platforms for developing and delivering online training programs.
  • Maintain the Researcher Development Academy's e-learning systems and platforms, collaborating with the Digital Services team and other relevant university stakeholders to ensure alignment with institutional policies and standards                                    

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • Completion of a Degree with subsequent relevant work experience; or
  • Completion of a Diploma and at least two years subsequent relevant work experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
  • Experience as a researcher or in a research environment, or in researcher or academic development
  • Experience and knowledge in designing educational resources and learning environments
  • Experience in the use and support of e-learning and knowledge management platforms
