The International Relations, Partnerships and Transnational Education Team is responsible in enhancing and fostering global engagement and strategic partnerships. The team assists in developing sustainable and multi-faceted partnerships that support academic collaboration, pathways for international students to Deakin, expansion of international teaching and learning and transnational education arrangements. 

As Manager, International Strategy and Partnerships, you will be:

  • Delivering Deakin’s Transnational Education and Partnerships Strategy by evaluating and implementing international education and research partnerships, including the development of business cases for new opportunities and growth plans for existing partners.
  • Establishing robust support mechanisms for new and existing partners, ensuring professional rollout of contractual obligations and driving engagement activities that meet strategic priorities.
  • Producing governance, financial, and academic performance reports to align with TEQSA and other quality assurance standards, fostering continuous improvement.
  • Acting as a key liaison with internal and external stakeholders, including faculties, recruitment teams, government agencies, and international institutions, to strengthen partnerships.
  • Managing and mentoring the team for optimal performance while driving a culture of excellence and process refinement.

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • Postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or
  • Extensive experience and management expertise; or
  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
  • Extensive knowledge of international education programs, policies, legislation, and trends, along with demonstrated experience in transnational education, including developing and managing proposals, business plans, and contracts.
  • Proven ability to provide timely strategic advice, develop innovative business models, and analyse opportunities for new initiatives and partnerships with strong business acumen.
  • Advanced written, oral, and cross-cultural communication skills, with experience presenting complex information to senior stakeholders and influencing internal and external collaboration for partnership strategies.
  • Strong leadership capabilities, well-established business and community networks, and the ability to mentor, motivate, and guide teams while fostering relationships with diverse stakeholders globally.
