The Researcher Development Academy within the Research and Innovation Portfolio at Deakin provides a range of research training, research education and professional development activities supporting researchers at all stages of their careers.  We are looking for a Lecturer (Level B) or Senior Lecturer (Level C) to lead the shaping and advancing of graduate researcher development by driving the initiation, design, and development of targeted programs and collaborations that significantly enhance the graduate researcher learning experience, outcomes, and capability.

 

As a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer, Graduate Researcher Development you will:

  • Provide academic support to graduate researchers and work collaboratively to improve graduate researchers support services to optimise graduate researcher outcomes.
  • Assist in applying industry and contemporary research practice into training design to improve graduate researcher learning experiences, success, engagement and resources.
  • Adopt innovation in curriculum design at the program level and deliver learner-centric, research-informed teaching practices across different levels / modes of delivery.
  • Maintain deep discipline knowledge which is applied to inform program design.
  • Design collaborative learning opportunities at the program level. Support diverse learners by designing accessible and inclusive course material and practices.

                                                                                                                                                                                      

To be successful, you’ll have:

Lecturer (Level B)

  • PhD in a relevant discipline and/or other relevant qualifications and experience.
  • Excellent record of scholarly learning and teaching in UG and/or PG programs, including innovative curriculum design.
  • Emerging reputation in research and scholarship through publications and/or exhibitions and/or success in obtaining external research funding.
  • Ability to contribute to communities through research.
  • Capacity to contribute to leadership of research and administration.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to establish good working relationships with colleagues.
  • Experience in researcher development with particular focus on doctoral education or graduate researchers, researcher communication, innovative curriculum design and teaching practice to support quality learner experiences outcomes.
  • Experience supporting the development and execution of a diverse range of projects and initiatives designed to engage stakeholders broadly and collaboratively to enhance impact and engagement practices for researchers.

 

Senior Lecturer (Level C)

  • PhD in a relevant discipline and/or advanced qualifications and experience in the relevant discipline area.
  • Excellent record of scholarly learning and teaching in UG and/or PG programs, including innovative curriculum design and research supervision
  • Nationally recognised research reputation underpinned by publications in quality journals, and exhibitions where relevant to the discipline.
  • Positive engagement with research, community, industry and government to enhance the national standing of the discipline.
  • Demonstrated capacity and passion for leadership of teaching, research and administration.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to establish good working relationships with colleagues.
  • Experience in researcher development with particular focus on doctoral education or graduate researchers, researcher communication, innovative curriculum design and teaching practice to support quality learner experiences outcomes.
  • Experience leading the development and execution of a diverse range of projects and initiatives designed to engage stakeholders broadly and collaboratively to enhance impact and engagement practices for researchers.
