  • Level B $113,157 - $133,837 + 17% Superannuation (pro rata, part time)

The Faculty of Art & Education are dedicated to being at the forefront of teaching, learning, creativity, social development, and groundbreaking research and discovery. We work closely with industry partners and government bodies to translate discoveries into real-word impact. This role will specifically be working within the School of Education.

About the role: 

The School of Education is seeking to recruit multiple continuing positions commencing in early-2025.

The Lecturer in Education, Education-focused will lead unit teaching teams in UG and/or PG programs to improve the student learning experience and outcomes across disciplines such as Curriculum, Pedagogy and Assessment; Mathematics; Literacy and Language; Technology Education; Humanities Education; Science Education; Arts Education; and Health & Physical Education. The positions will initiate, design and conduct productive, high-quality, scholarship and creative activities to enhance student experience and teaching learning outcomes in their discipline area.

These positions are suited to a person with an emerging record and passion for learning and teaching, a keen interest in contributing to community engagement for teaching and employability.

As a Lecturer in Education, Education-focused, you will:

  • Lead dynamic teaching teams and collaborate across units to design innovative, research-driven curricula and engaging learning resources that inspire student success.
  • Drive continuous improvement by actively reviewing and refining courses, while integrating cutting-edge teaching practices to enrich student learning experiences.
  • Create inclusive, interactive learning environments, offering collaborative opportunities and developing assessments that provide meaningful feedback to boost student achievement.
  • Empower students with personalised academic support, guide them to key resources, and foster a vibrant culture of excellence, supporting the growth of both peers and junior colleagues.
  • Champion the latest in pedagogical research, contribute to impactful education projects, and elevate your teaching expertise—culminating in the completion of a Graduate Certificate in Higher Education Learning and Teaching.

 

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • PhD in a relevant discipline and/or other relevant qualifications and experience.
  • Excellent record of scholarly learning and teaching in UG and/or PG programs, including innovative curriculum design.
  • Demonstrated passion for teaching and learning.
  • Ability to deliver effective teaching practices to improve student success and engagement.
  • Emerging record of scholarly learning and teaching in postgraduate or undergraduate programs.
  • Ability to contribute to communities through research.
  • Capacity to contribute to leadership of research and administration.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to establish good working relationships with colleagues.
  •  Demonstrated passion for teaching and learning.
  •  Ability to deliver effective teaching practices to improve student success and engagement.
