About the role:
The Senior Officer, Engagement is responsible for coordinating the events, marketing and communication operations of the DeakinTALENT team.
The position coordinates end-to-end internal staff, and external employer, events on behalf of the teams within Graduate Employment, as well as developing the overall calendar of events. It develops and operationalises the internally and externally facing communications plan including both employer and student promotions. This role has oversight of the Graduate Employment Team’s marketing ensuring all material is in line with Deakin’s guidelines and frameworks.
The Senior Officer, Engagement, works closely with the Graduate Employment Management Team to operationalise the strategy through events, marketing and communications. The role has a high level of engagement and collaboration with staff across all teams.
As a Senior Officer, Engagement, you will:
- Draw on a diverse range of team members and resources to identify new or improved opportunities, processes and ways of doing things to enhance the team’s strategy.
- Establish and demonstrate a high level of learning, energy and commitment and maintain personal integrity and make decisions consistent with university values.
- Promote technical solutions to modernise work practices and ensure alignment with Deakin’s and Graduate Employment’s strategic direction.
- Plan and prioritise work and critical activities appropriately and recognise barriers to achieving outcomes while finding effective ways to deal with them and evaluates progress.
- Challenge existing processes by formulating creative and inclusive alternative solutions and benefits.
- Plan and oversee all aspects of the end-to-end projects to deliver sustainable outcomes, value within constraints of time, cost and quality.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- A Degree with subsequent relevant experience; or
- Extensive experience and specialist knowledge or broad knowledge in technical or administrative fields; or
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
