Why work with us?

Deakin aspires to be Australia's most progressive university, with the principles of diversity, equity and inclusion underpinning our approach to education, research, employability, digital delivery, innovation, and partnerships for impact. Our vision is for an inclusive environment where we value and celebrate diversity, embrace difference and nurture a connected, safe and respectful community. We want Deakin to be a place where all staff and students feel included and respected for their unique perspectives and talents. At Deakin you will have access to benefits such as a variety of leave options including generous parental leave and the ability to purchase additional leave; flexible working arrangements to help manage your work-life balance; ongoing learning and development opportunities to grow your career; an inclusive and supportive culture and environment to work in, both online and on campus.

Who are we?

Deakin offers outstanding education founded on the experience we create for our learners and guided by graduate outcomes for successful lives and careers. We undertake globally significant discovery research that benefits our communities through the innovative translation of our ideas into new services, products, policies and capabilities. Deakin is a cutting-edge public university in Victoria, revolutionising education with 61,000 students across five campuses, delivering the highest student satisfaction in Victoria and consistently ranked in the top 1% of the world's universities.  Deakin aspires to be Australia's most progressive university, with the principles of diversity, equity and inclusion underpinning our approach to education, research, employability, digital delivery, innovation, and partnerships for impact.

Advancement at Deakin develops and maintains relationships with a variety of university supporters including a 350,000 strong alumni community, advocates, friends and generous donors. Like our staff and student community, our alumni and donor supporters are diverse and contribute greatly to the community and the world around us. You only need to look at our recent Alumni Award recipients to see how special our Deakin community is. Imagine getting to work with people who want to make a difference in the world. Well, you can!

The Advancement Division at Deakin is growing and we have ambitious plans for 2024 and the years to come as we lay the foundations for the University’s first comprehensive campaign and celebrate Deakin’s 50th anniversary. The support of our alumni and donor community makes a lasting impact on Deakin, and your ability to connect with these passionate Deakin supporters will directly contribute to cutting edge research, enhanced learning opportunities for students and other important community shaping programs.

Imagine being able to help a student become the first in their family to attend university, support a researcher to progress toward solving our world’s greatest challenges or connect students with an inspiring mentor. Together, we can transform ideas to impact.

If stepping into a dynamic role where you are making a difference and strategic excellence excites you, then let us know and consider becoming an integral part of our mission to create lasting impact! Over the next year or two, we will have many exciting roles available in fundraising, alumni engagement and our Advancement operations team and we’d love to hear from you.
