About the role:

The Project Officer, Prevention & Education provides critical support to the Coordinator, Governance and Policy, ensuring effective delivery of initiatives and programmes of work across the University. This position will manage the coordination of the Harassment and Discrimination Contact officer network and play an important role in overseeing child-safety compliance activities, including monitoring adherence to the Universities child safety policies, reporting obligations and risk-management requirements.  The role will contribute to broader governance and compliance functions by supporting policy development, implementation, and review, and by ensuring alignment with legislative and regulatory frameworks. A sound understanding of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010, along with relevant child‑safety and safeguarding legislation, will be required to provide accurate guidance on governance and policy‑related compliance matters, including the management of complaints under Equity and Inclusion policies and procedures.

As a Project Officer, Prevention & Education you will:

  • Develop and provide the necessary documentation and reporting to support the management and coordination of primary prevention programs including development of reports, presentation and communications.
  • Stay up to date with relevant legislation, best practices and trends. Plan and prioritise work and recognise barriers to achieving outcomes, find effective ways to deal with them and evaluate progress.

  • Communicate with confidence using examples to increase understanding and support.
