About the Role:
A Food & Beverage Attendant is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service across dining areas, bars, cafés, or event spaces. The role involves taking orders, serving food and drinks, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring guests have an enjoyable and seamless experience.
To be successful, you'll have:
- Strong customer service skills with a positive, welcoming attitude.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in fast-paced environments.
- Good personal presentation and professionalism.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic food and beverage knowledge (training provided where required).
- Reliable, punctual, and adaptable to varying shifts (weekends, nights, public holidays).
- Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) — required for roles involving alcohol service.
- Food safety or hospitality training — desirable but not essential.
- Previous hospitality or customer service experience — highly regarded but not mandatory.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, friendly service throughout their visit.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently using POS systems.
- Serve meals and drinks in accordance with venue standards and service sequences.
- Prepare basic beverages (e.g., soft drinks, coffees, juices) as required.
- Set up, clear, and reset tables, ensuring dining areas remain clean and presentable.
- Assist in opening and closing procedures, including cleaning, restocking, and setup.
- Maintain knowledge of menu items, specials, and dietary requirements to assist guests.
- Handle cash and electronic payments accurately.
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards (including allergen awareness).
- Support team members and collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth service.
- Assist in stock rotation, replenishing supplies, and general housekeeping duties.
- Respond professionally and promptly to guest enquiries, concerns, or complaints.
