The role

Sessional Tutor in trimester 1, 2 and 3:

As a Sessional Tutor in the Film, Television and Animation course, you will make an important contribution to the discipline(s) and unit(s) for which you are engaged. You will prepare and conduct tutorials, consult with students, undertake assessment and attend meetings as required by the Unit Chair.

ACF107 Principles of Animation

Required:

Candidates must have knowledge, experience and skill in animation software (TV Paint, DragonFrame), Adobe Creative Suite and sundry moving image and sound editing programs; Knowledge, experience and skill in under-camera animation creative workflow.

ACF207 Animation Project

Required:

Candidates must have knowledge, experience and skill in 2D and 3D animation software (TV Paint, Adobe Creative Suite and Maya) in a Mac-based lab and sundry moving image and sound editing programs; Knowledge of under-camera animation creative workflow.

ACF212 - Visual Effects and Motion Graphics

Required:

Candidates must have knowledge, experience and skill in 2D and 3D animation software (TV Paint, Adobe Creative Suite and Maya) in a Mac-based lab and sundry moving image and sound editing programs; Knowledge of under-camera animation creative workflow.

ACF711 Screen Visual Effects

Required:

Needs to have knowledge of compositing, colour grading, file management.

To be successful, you’ll have:

1. Appropriate degree or experience relevant to unit.

2. Understanding of relevant unit subject content as demonstrated by academic achievement and/or professional competency. 

3. Excellent teaching skills and experience teaching the subject-matter, or capacity to develop teaching skills within the context of the unit.

4. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others. 

5. Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively with students and unit chair and commitment to providing timely and constructive feedback on student assignments.

AQF Level Guide

Teaching into:                                  

Bachelor Degree – must have Honours or above (or equivalent experience)                         

Honours, Grad Cert, Grad Dip – must have Masters or above (or equivalent experience) 

Masters – must have Doctoral degree (or equivalent experience)
